Great Bear Rainforest - Pure and Wild

Photography Workshop with Photographer and Guide Jack Plant.  A 4 night package of pure, wild photography in British Columbia's Epic wilderness.

This workshop is suitable for photographers of all skill sets and is an incredible opportunity to push your ability, experiment and learn beautiful techniques while immersed in the unforgettable Great Bear Rainforest.

Not only will you go home with a collection of new and unique images, you'll be equipped with an abundance of tools to help you be a better and more ethical wildlife photographer.

Day 1 - Your Adventure Begins

Fly from Vancouver to Bella Bella where you will be picked up by your host Jack Plant. You will be taken deeper into the rainforest to Klemtu via boat. Have your cameras at the ready, as this is where you will have your first opportunity to encounter wildlife. Upon arrival to Spirit Bear Lodge, you will be give an orientation followed by a delicious dinner and evening program.

During these three full days out in the field, Jack will focus on making sure your SD cards are filled with epic shots to be proud of. After a hearty breakfast, you will enter the wilderness playground known as the "Kitasoo/Xai'xais Territory". Not only could you encounter amazing rainforest wildlife, you will be taken to sacred cultural sites, wild beaches, enchanting landscapes and commanding waterfalls that are sure to keep your cameras busy. The evening will include dinner, evening presentations, one-on-one mentoring and optional evening shooting.

Day 5 - Bring the Adventure Home

After Coffee and Breakfast, you will embark on your journey home, enjoying the boat trip back to Bella Bella, taking in the last bit of beauty offered by  the Great Bear Rainforest and Great Bear Sea. You will return home with a brand new portfolio and memories that will last forever.

  • 4 Nights accommodation at Spirit Bear Lodge, Ocean view, private en-suite bathroom.

Hosting the Pure & Wild Photography Workshop is senior guide and operations manager of Spirit Bear Lodge, Jack Plant. With 6 years of exploring Kitasoo/Xai’Xais territory, Jack will be able to provide an unforgettable experience that will leave you with long lasting memories, and photos to be proud of.

Jack has worked along side National Geographic’s Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier, and the award-winning GBR IMAX’s Ian McAllister. As well as guiding dozens of photography tours at Spirit Bear Lodge.
Most of Jack’s photography consists of wildlife and conservation photography, but he also has a extensive portfolio of portrait and travel photography. 

Through Jack’s intimate encounters with the planet’s wild creatures, he has learnt the best and most ethical ways to capture the subject without negative impact.  Jack believes the most successful images are the ones that tell a story, drive emotion and make the viewer fall in love with the subject.
