Founded in 2001, Spirit Bear Lodge attracts visitors from around the world looking to explore the Great Bear Rainforest in search of wildlife, culture and untouched ecosystems.

Spirit Bear Lodge is built in the spirit of our First Nations heritage with the well-being of our guests in mind.

During our tour season, June 1st to October 10th, the lodge is reserved exclusively for guests on our package tours.

Our goal is to deliver a trans formative experience through complete immersion in nature, education, and sharing our appreciation for the interconnected ecosystem that we call The Great Bear Rainforest

Spirit Bear Lodge is owned by the Kitasoo Xai’xais people with the mission of building capacity and employment opportunities for the people of Klemtu.

Today, Spirit Bear Lodge is a world class ecotourism and adventure travel business that employs mostly Klemtu locals in all aspects of our operation.


Media Centre

Spirit Bear Lodge invites the world to learn more about our community owned, eco-cultural wildlife viewing operation in BC's amazing Great Bear Rainforest, the largest remaining intact temperate rainforest in the world.

Our media savvy team can provide your organization with material that will enlighten, educate and wow your readers and viewers. We have worked with international media from around the world including but not limited to BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic.
