In a land sculpted by the last ice age, where deep coastal fjords cut into the snow capped mountains and temperate rainforests lead to remote beaches, Spirit Bear Lodge takes visitors on an authentic cultural journey in search of the rare and beautiful Spirit Bear. Since 2002 guests from around the world have travelled to the remote coastal village of Klemtu, in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, to experience a unique wildlife tour with local Kitasoo guides.

"Spirit Bear Lodge in Klemtu, BC is a world-class, extraordinary, life-changing  wildlife experience. We saw the exceedingly rare white spirit bear, lots of grizzlies, humpback and orca whales, sea lions and fantastic jellyfish. The food and lodging at the lodge were superlative, and the local Kitasoo/Xai'xais people are lovely and extremely welcoming. Everything was beautifully organized to make it a five star experience."

With an abundance of wildlife such as Spirit Bears, Grizzly and Black bears, wolves, whales and dolphins, the ancestral lands of the Kitasoo/Xai’xais are also home to ancient village sites and architecture. Spirit Bear Lodge guides weave a historical and compelling narrative that highlight the unique ecological and cultural knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years.
